Another gorgeous 11 questions to satisfy your 11 questions appetite 🙂
Here is the gorgeous Zoe Desmond. Zoe is another one of those people I’ve met in the virtual world but not in reality even though the virtual world is technically part of our reality but we all know what I mean so don’t pretend we don’t right! 🙂 Zoe is a real inspiration and is part of the reason why I wrote my book Me Raw: You Cooked, which you might notice the husband has put a lovely link to over here ——————————————–>
lovely isn’t it? Anyway here she is:
1. How long have you been in to raw foods?
Over five years now.
2. How did you discover raw foods?
My American husband knew people who were raw and we experimented with a raw lemon tart and mock salmon pate and I was hooked.
3. What were some of the first benefits you noticed?
I fell in love with food for the first time. I felt like every meal was total decadence and luxury. I felt I was truly loving my body and it was loving me back by being full of energy.
4. Were there any drawbacks? If so, what and how did you handle?
Horrendous detox, plague like sores all over my body and hideous emotional/mental detox.
I saw a counsellor for the emotional/mental side of it, she was amazing, and after 3 months I was like a new person.
Also did a lot of yoga (which I am crap at, but just a little effort really does do a lot) and did a lot of mantra and affirmation chanting. Went to America, got my head blown off (metaphysically, not literally!) at Mount Shasta, and generally chilled the frig out!
5. How did your family and friends react?
Well I have worked as a clairvoyant and healer for the last 10 years so for my very conservative family, this was no trouble for them, in fact they really liked it because it was far easier for them to understand and accept than my job!
My brother is a heart and lung surgeon and he even went vegan for 6 weeks and made me and my ex a three course raw meal.
6. How did you handle reactions? any tips?
I have never had any negative reactions. I really haven’t. I just had to sit and think for a while and I can’t remember any at all.
7. What advice would you give people who are interested in raw foods on how to get started?
Quit processed foods, go vegan. Then things will be OK. How much raw food you eat depends on you, the climate you live in, your lifestyle and your tastes. There isn’t one way for everyone, but processed food is not for us, and the meat and dairy well, in my opinion, there’s just something deeply adverse to love in eating it…and being part of the whole factory farming industry. What part of you, your mind, body and spirit is fed when you eat dead flesh? and the fluids of sick imprisoned animals? I wonder….
8. What is your number 1 raw tip?
Food is not your enemy. Food is your Divine Lover so treat it as such. From the God Goddess’s hands straight into your mouth, recognise this as an act of Divine Love.
9. What is your favourite raw food and why?
Seaweed coz it is gorgeous and it goes with everything and tuns a normal meal into something out of this world.
And mangoes. And papayas with lemon juice.
10. If you could be any raw food what would you be and why?
I would be a ripe juicy Indian mango because it is the sexiest, juiciest most decadent and delicious thing on earth.
11. How do you see the raw movement in five years time?
MacDonalds will probably have a raw burger on the menu…
