Last night we had a Glasgow Raw Food meetup in Grassroots shop. Each person brings along a raw dish and we all basically stuff our faces with gorge raw food and have a bit o’ chat. I’ve just recently taken over as organiser of the group and I love it. It’s so fabby bringing people together especially when it can feel quite isolating for some to be on this path and have little support or understanding from friends or family.
The group has been on the go for about 2 years now and we have about 115 members across Glasgow and some in other parts of Scotland, England and Ireland! By no means is everyone raw, some are just interested in finding out more or like coming along for the nice food. It’s such a mish mash of lovely people and I’m so honoured to be a part of such a great community. I was thinking earlier just how far Glasgow has come on in the raw scene. I reckon we could be a huge hub of rawbies by this time next year for sure. Anyways here are some of the pics from the night 🙂
There were pics of lots of other food but unfortunately my camera is a piece of shit. Oh hang on, a bad workman eh? Errrr…I need a camera more suited to my photographic abilities 🙂
We’ve got another potluck planned for 30th July in Grassroots and a bigger one planned for 28th August. If you want any more details about the meetups check out our meetup group here
I’ve finally finished my 3 cases of coconuts and not going to get anymore due to going on hols in 2 days woop. But here’s another awesome (can’t stop saying awesome) dish I made
Got some wild raspberries and strawbs from the garden
Added to the blender with meat from one coconut and some juice and xylitol
Blend and make berry yoghurt – sooo good it deserves a bank holiday named after it
So that’s about me for today. Will hopefully squeeze my travel blog in before I jet off. So exciting! Have an awesome day.
Bit o’ 80s nostalgia as woke up singing this in my internal jukebox. Can remember dancing to this when I was about 10 at a disco in Malta on holiday. Bless. Bet I was an awesome dancer even then… 🙂
