Maca is an herbaceous biennial plant native to the high Andes of Bolivia and Peru.  It is used mainly as a root vegetable and a medicinal herb. Maca is an adaptogen which means that it acts like a little superhero, going in to your body it finds all the areas that need some help and sorts them out quick smart!  Anything that’s off balance or out of whack, it sorts out and stabilises.  « Continue »

Have you heard of baobab?  I have!  It’s a bit of a weird sounding name, (I keep calling it baobobbins, sad but true) but it’s absolutely magical!  Baobab is actually an African tree which grows lush green fruits inside of which are a pale powder that is super sweet and tangy.  It’s a powerhouse of nutrtition including potassium, calcium, iron, magnesium,  vitamin C, and B vitamins. It’s a fantastic antioxidant, has anti-inflammatory properties, and is an effective prebiotic.  I’ve been chucking it in my fruity berry type smoothies (goes really well with purple corn) and also chocolates!  Here is a bloody awesome recipe I made courtesy of one Kate Magic and the lovely people « Continue »
