my new free-book

By Emma Leave a Comment Jun 15 2

What a positively bloody gorgeous day I’ve had today!  Seriously.  You would not BELIEVE the perfection that was my day today.  Moving on, I have a sexy book for you.  It’s free.  I don’t want anything for it AT ALL!  I don’t even want your email address so I can send you emails to annoy you about stuff.  Nope, you can have it for nothing.  If you want to buy me an Om Bar that’s totally up to you! (must work on my subliminal messaging more…)

Here it is, it’s a little raw food recipe book « Continue »

raw in Reykjavik?

By Emma Leave a Comment May 18 0

Hey hey!  It’s me!  I’m in Reykjavik for my wee Iceland adventure.  Yay! My trip is for three months and whilst I intend on getting super healthy and fit while I’m out here (think clean air, excellent spring water, swimming, walking etc.) I may have to be flexible with the raw food eating.

That’s not true actually.

What I meant to say was I may choose to be flexible with the raw food eating.  It’s all about choice baby!  Sometimes people get themselves in such a mess thinking they have to be rigid.  Nothing in life is rigid.  I remember when I used to travel with work or sometimes when I’d socialise I’d fret about how I was going to eat raw.  When I relaxed with myself let me tell you I had a 4000% better time and subsequently became healthier!  Don’t get me wrong, I’m not about to chow down on hotdogs or stuff but the odd cooked fayre is not going to be the death of me…

Last night I went to Á Næstu Grösum which is an amazing veggie restaurant offering a gorgeous selection of veggie and vegan fayre.  They actually had a few raw items but I opted for a 50:50 plate (that’s raw:cooked of course).  BEST TOMATOES IN THE WORLD I shit you not!

Underneath the restaurant is a health food shop and juice bar.  Actually, I’ve spotted quite a few health food shops and having peered through every window i can confirm there are Om Bars in Reykjavik!  This is good and bad.  Good because it means I have THEE best raw chocolate bar on the planet in my vicinity.  Bad (or less than good, shut up Emma) because I was kinda thinking it might be good to take a break from choc for a while to give my adrenal glands a break!  Hmm, WHAT A QUANDRY!  I’ll let you know how that war ends… 🙂

So what have I done to prepare for Iceland in the raw?  Answer: bugger all.  Actually that’s a lie, I have brought my travel blender.  Apart from that I’ve done nowt.  Not too worried though, there’s a fabby raw restaurant called Glo that I intend on visiting (as much as finances will allow) and I think it’ll be fun seeing what I can source and how creative I can be raw-stylee in Reykjavik.

For those of you interested, my Iceland blog is here.  There’s likely to be some overlap but even more likely I won’t be arsed typing the same thing twice so YEAH, check them both out why don’t you?

I’m away to get me a grænn djus – that’s green juice by the way! 🙂
