This sexy little recipe is brought to you by the lovely Keith Collins. Keith is a raw foodie from Edinburgh, living in Shanghai and was inspired to go raw by a Glaswegian, whilst living in Hong Kong! How cool is that?
Keith kindly said I could steal this sexy little recipe from his awesome blog. Check it out, he’s got lots of great info! This is a lovely, warming recipe for a cold winter’s day. Not that we’ve really had very many this year. Bloody global warming. Once you’ve checked out Keith’s blog, why not make this recipe then ask me to come round your house to share it? Who says I don’t come up with amazing ideas?
Enjoy!
Spiced Hot Chocolate with Orange
Serves 8
8 cups of your favourite nut/seed milk
7 whole cloves
2 cinnamon sticks, broken into small pieces (powder also works)
Pinch of cayenne pepper
1 Tablespoon of honey (or sweetener of choice)
1 Tablespoon of grated orange zest
4 tablespoons of organic raw cacao powder
Combine all ingredients (expect the cacao powder) into a saucepan and heat on a low heat very gently (make sure it doesn’t come to a boil). Allow the spices to infuse for 15 minutes. Stir occasionally.
Sieve this mixture into your blender. Add the raw cacao powder and blend until smooth.
Pour into mugs and serve immediately..mmmm.
