Why do you read this blog? Tell me and maybes win a prize!

By Emma Aug 17 26

Why do you keep reading this blog?

Tell me.  I want to know!  Truly I do…

What is it about the Raw Food Scotland website that you like – WHAT MAKES YOU CLICK GOD DAMN IT?

Is it cos I swear?  It is isn’t it?  No? Is it what I write about?  Is it recipes?  Is it reviews?  Is there something I can do for you (not in that way)?

Whilst Google Analytics is all very fun and exciting to check out, I’d much rather hear from you cos you’re much smarter than a stupid analytical tool that mostly shows me sweary words and weird stuff!

I want to know so I can concentrate on giving you what you want, what you neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed.

Tell me tell me tell me!  If you’d rather not leave a comment below then drop me a line at emma@rawfoodscotland.co.uk

To make it worth your while, everyone that gives me feedback will be entered in to a PRIZE draw to WIN (fanfare)

Raw Magic – Recipe Book by Kate Magic

AND

Aggressive Health by Mine Nash

AND

A bar of Conscious Raw Chocolate

How’s that?  Pretty good eh?  You know you want to!

Leave me a comment or drop me a line with your feedback and the winner will be announced on Friday at 6pm.

YAY!  GO YOU!

I like the variety you post about. I like recipes, inspirations, yoga, etc. It’s all good 🙂

Emma, you asked, so here I go!

I enjoy seeing how you manage your relationship, with your husband who appears to have diametrically opposed way of eating. Not easy, but your frankness with how you deal with it is interesting.

I quite agree with you about Google analytics only being a part of the understanding. I don’t think I really know what to make of it all, using it up myself as I do. It tells you a load of factual data, but doesn’t give you the understanding.

I check in now and again, but don’t claim to be a regular reader. Something that does interest me is why your monthly list of posts, when I click on them only run down to about 10 at the bottom of each page. I don’t know where the earlier in the month ones go.

I’m also like you are not really understanding whether writing the blog has value. And that means in terms of value for the time spent. Obviously I’m doing mine to promote the wheatgrass/broccoli sprout juices, although there is a limit to how many things you can write about that without repeating yourself. Nonetheless, I try! In an overcrowded cyber world, with so many different media challenging for a limited time, it’s not only hard to know what people read of what you’ve written, but also what they do with that information. Does it leave them to become a customer, and interested follower, but disbelieving dismissive, and angry rejectionist, or worst of all other lobbyist against whatever one’s trying to do. I’ve had one of them, and ended up with a long-running spat with trading standards about what I was saying in favour of wheatgrass and broccoli sprout juices.

So, I’ll keep reading, as your journey is interesting. As for Iceland, that to seem to have a lot of ups and downs. Perhaps you’re looking for a flat-lining phase for your life?!

The final point about why I read your blog, as with some others, is to study the content and see whether it’s of beneficial influence upon my journey. I certainly need to “up my game”. Carrying a stone more than I should be. My weak link? Chocolate! Plus, perhaps not taking enough exercise. Vroom vroom, bicycle, where art thou? Ah, in the conservatory,, get you in a moment.

It’s probably fair to say to, but I don’t suppose I’m the only one that it’s worked for, is that the initial snare resumed lying in the bath covered in leaves! Yeah, I know, corny, but then maybe that’s why you did it? It is certainly a cool looking photo. One to consider recreating!

Right, that’s enough, bicycle pedals, come to my toes 🙂

Wow Oliver! That’s probably the most impressive feedback ever!

I really value what you’ve written and thank you so much for taking the time to respond.

Yes you’re so right about the monthly posts thing, that was unfortunately a fault with my old website design which is why I’ve now changed it to this lovely funky new one. You’ll find that you’re able to access all the posts now by clicking on the ‘older posts’ tab (quite faint but you can’t have it all eh?) to scroll back.

Yes I ‘m quite sure I have a lot of people dipping in and out which is just dandy, I want people to tap in to what they enjoy and hope to get some more info on that through this blog post.

Hahaha the latter part of your feedback is certainly most entertaining and something I think would be very valuable in your own blog posts – which I’m subscribed to!

Yes the photo is something else and I’m pretty sure it’s caught an eye or two. Perhaps I will start doing videos in a bath of spinach 🙂

Your post also made me ponder why I click on other sites and blogs, thanks for making me question that. i think I find a lot of value in what other people are experiencing and how it relates to my own…

Thanks again for such awesome feedback, hope you enjoy your cycle…around the conservatory 😉

Umm laziness plays a part in it for me -if I know you’ve taken time to reasearch something and it’s working for you then sometimes I give it a try! I trust that you have good information and are not bigging something up because you’re selling it. Plus you’re funny 🙂

I like that you use words like bazillion, that you write in weegie patois, and yes deffo the sweary words. Mostly I like that you don’t write as if you know everything and that raw food will cure all the ills of the planet. Keep on keeping it real lady!

Thanks Janis! That’s really helpful and I’m glad the sweary words and patter are an incentive to read haha! x

hmm, we haven’t met but i enjoy reading about a fellow scot (and weegie – bonus!) navigating this wonderful world of raw. the site is frank, honest and informative, yet humorous, light-hearted and doesn’t smack of any of the associated activism/labelling etc. that keeps me away from some of the more mainstream forums based overseas, or indeed from seeking to hook up with similar-minded folk in the real world! what i’ve enjoyed most is the realisation from your posts that with our self-deprecating humour and down-to-earthness, perhaps it might be possible to enjoy rawness in this country without having to redefine oneself according to what one choses (for whatever reasons) to eat! yay!

I’ve just stumbled upon your blog as I’m really interested in learning more about eating raw. Just love what I’ve read so far and of course the fact that you’re in Scotland just takes the (raw) biscuit. A refreshing change from all of the americanised sites and blogs. I’ll definitely be following closely from now on.
