Ok random title for a blog I know. All will be revealed shortly. First of all let me tell you I am having THE BEST EVERYTHING EVER today. I asked my brain last night to wake me up nice and refreshed at 7am this morning, have you ever done that? It totally works. Your brain has it’s own wee clock and does exactly what you say! Ok that’s a lie cos it did wake me up at 6.45am but hey, I was feeling awesomely refreshed despite only a few hours sleep so I’m still uber chuffed.
This is DAY 4 of the juice feast and I’m feeling bloody fantastic. First couple of days was a bit detoxy, felt quite thirsty and headachey but now I just feel MAGIC!
So where was I? Yes, then I did some rebounding which got me feeling EVEN MORE AMAZING, then decided to take a wee walk outside to see if there were any wild greens kicking about. I spotted some dandelions in town yesterday but they’re still asleep out this way.
What I did find though was LOADS of sorrel! Sorrel is my absolute favourite wild green. It’s so tangy and tastes like lemon spinach! It’s awesome:
Here‘s a vid I did last year on wild greens round the estate where I live 🙂
Anyway so I got loads of that and also some GRASS to juice. I first heard about juicing wild grass from David Wolfe at his talk in London last year and I kinda thought well that makes sense, if you can juice wheatgrass why not actual grass? I think it’s important that it’s wild and clean, I wouldn’t go picking it in town or parks or anything but I’m satisfied the stuff I picked (just the tops of the fresh grass blades) is good stuff. If you don’t hear another blog from me then I’ve died so don’t do it 🙂
Sooooo where does the blog post title come in? Well, I was having a lovely time time to myself making my morning juice, listening to my ipod and singing away. Rod came in to make his porridge and this is how the conversation went:
Me: I’m making a new juice, do you want to know what it’s called?
Rod: Bad singing juice? Who is strangling the cat juice? Who put the cat in the juicer juice?
My husband is hilarious don’t you think?
So here is my juicy recipe for y’all…
GARDEN GLORY JUICE
1 head celery
4 asparagus spears
2-3 handfuls of sorrel and grass (optional of course)
1 large handful parsley
It smelled a bit er, earthy but actually tastes pretty good. The carrots help to make it sweet and creamy. Plus it’s so good for you your body will be bloody over the moon with you 😉
Rebound song of the day woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! I am feeling soooo fine 🙂
