potluck postie, pisa and prizes

By Emma Oct 22 1

Hey everyone, just back from Pisa late last night, I’m such a jetter-setter these days aren’t I?  Haven’t really properly been blogifying since before I went to London to see the amazing David Wolfe and a few people have mentioned about my being a lil lax in telling you poor souls who didn’t get to see the gorge man himself just what went down!

Well, the answer is JUST TOO DAMN MUCH for me to blog about (ha ha major cop out).  Seriously, if you missed out then check out a few vids on youtube which cover what he was talking about here.  Needless to say he totally blew my mind with his amazing knowledge and talked about a lot of stuff I just hadn’t heard of before ANNNND I got to meet up with amazing lovely people ANNNNND eat fantastic Sacred Chocolate (you MUST try this stuff) ANNNND just generally hang out with the coolest of dudettes eating lots of yum scran from Saf.  Saf is seriously good raw food.  I ended up having 3 cocktails and 3 courses with 2 desserts – just HAS to be done.  Beautiful raw cashew & pesto cheese with flax crax to start, raw quiche for main and then chocolate orange marble torte with choc ice creams for pudding.  Ah-mazing.  Dear Santa, please will you open a raw restaurant in Glasgow?  I have been a VERY good girl. Thanks…..

So that’s about all I’ve got to say on Landan I’m ‘fraid 🙂

What else?  Well I’ve been suuuuuuuuuuuuuuper in to my juices since I got my gorgeous Greenstar which I bought from the lovely Karen Knowler via her Raw Food Directory on facebook – like a yellow pages but for raw stuff 🙂  Some SERIOUS juices have made their way from this babe of a machine to this errr, babe of a machine including my very favourite Carrot, Asparagus (yes), Beetroot, Broccoli, Parsley, Cucumber and Celery Juice.  JUST AMAZING.  But you know the best bit?  It’s the pretty patterns it makes before I swirlify it in to a proper juice-fest.  Check it out…

I have some exciting news too (not pregnant, everyone ALWAYS thinks that when you say exciting news).  Have forgotten my exciting news now…OH YES, my lovely friend Anabrese has started up her very own Potluck Postie service.  Basically you pay a standard payment and receive a gorgeous selection of raw food through the post which can be any yummy raw food at all (hence the potluck aspect).  How good is that?  I got a fantastic selection through the post this morning of garlic, tomato and onion bread, coconut cacao cookies, buckwheat/oat and coconut biscuits AND some beautiful chocolates!!  Gorgeous!  Check out her website here for more information – she’s also doing a fabby raw Christmas hamper!!  Dear Santa, oh what’s that? you’re busy just now working on the raw restaurant in Glasgow?  Well, see while you’re at it, can I also have a raw xmas hamper?  Good girl etc. Cheers….

My raw food classes at Strathclyde Uni in Glasgow are going really well.  28 students a week for 6 weeks get to hear my weirdy ramblings and sample 5 recipes a class.  I really love passing on the good vibes about eating for health and making a difference!  The classes are full of such a wide range of people from different backgrounds, ages and lifestyles.  It’s wonderful watching everyone bonding together over some green smoothies!  I love my life…

So last on my blog to-do list today is to announce the 3 lucky winners of the recent competition we had for the Glasgow Raw Food Group.  Gorgeous Grassroots put up 3 amazing prizes for the group of a £100 hempy hamper, a £50 hempy hamper and third prize an assorted products and choc CRACK cake.  Unfortunately as organiser I can’t win but I win when I get to make three people’s day of course!  (pass bucket)

So I was meant to go to Grassroots to get a member of staff to pick 3 names from a hat then I thought it would be much more exciting and interesting to let my dog choose the winners and film the fun for everyone?  So here it is… How exciting 🙂

The lucky winners will be contacted in a day or two to arrange uplift of prizes 🙂

That is most definitely me for today.  For those that didn’t know we have our Raw Halloween Potluck in Glasgow on Saturday 30th and in Edinburgh on Sunday 31st.  If you want to come along check out the meetup groups here

Have the most fun it’s possible to have in this dimension 🙂 xx
