This smoothie was a total pain in the arse to make but as with most things in life, the things that are a total pain in the arse usually end up being worth it 🙂 It’s inspired in part by the amazing Lassis you can get at Vantra in London. I was there at the weekend and enjoyed a Strawberry & Cacao Nut Mylk Lassi so here is my interpretation…
Pain In The Arse Smoothie
1 cup shelled hemp seeds soaked overnight and rinsed
1 punnet raspberries
1 tsp vanilla powder
1 tbsp hulled hemp seeds
3 tbsp raw cacao nibs
1 tsp xylitol
1-2 tbsp coconut nectar (use whatever sweetener you prefer)
Optional additions which I put in (1 tsp purple corn powder, 1 tsp blackcurant powder, 1 tsp baobab powder)
Make a hemp milk by adding the soaked hemp seeds to the blender with about half a litre of water. Blend and then strain through a nut milk bag. Rinse out the blender.
Add the nut milk back to the blender with the rest of the ingredients.
Strain this mixture through the nut milk bag to take out all the raspberry seeds and any bits that haven’t fully blended.
Voila, c’est ca!
Check out the colour!! It’s scientifically proven that if you drink purple you become 67% more super hero!!
I’m having a proper 80s fest this last week. LOVE 80s
