natural beauty

By Emma Feb 5 4

You already know (I’ve banged on about it enough) the importance of treating your body as the god/goddess-like temple it truly is by not slathering on tonnes of chemical-laden shit that will be absorbed and increase toxicity in the body.  I wanted to write this short blog to reiterate that it’s not just about what you put on the outside to sexify yourself, but what goes on inside.

I think it’s such a shame that in today’s day and age (haha that sounds weird doesn’t it? in tomorrow’s day and age? hmm) that we are bombarded with so many products designed to make us artificially beautiful.  False nails to cover your own nails (which can be very good indicators of dis-ease in the body), hair extensions, false eye lashes, hair products for more shiny, soft hair,  products to make you look tanned or your skin glow, drops to make your eyes sparkle etc etc.  The list is endless. It’s actually laughable how ridiculous the effort to achieve ‘natural beauty’ has become.  I’m guessing we’d all love to be naturally beautiful without the help of one hundred and fifty billion different products!

toxic skincare

The good news, no, AMAZING news, is that you don’t need that shit.  You really don’t!

Truly natural beauty is more than achievable without spending a fortune on bottled plastic crap that ultimately is going to rob you of your beauty by the sheer build up of toxins in your body and the environment.  By constantly buying in to the idea that beauty can be bought in a jar and that you’re not good enough without this product and the ten other sister products you NEED to use in conjunction for it to work, you’re on a one way street to misery.  I mean seriously, use this but make sure you used our other thing first and this thing after and sometimes this thing every second Tuesday but only if the Moon is waning and you haven’t cut your toenails for a fortnight…. Where was I?

Yes, we only have to look to nature for the answer – as we usually need to do…  Everything in nature is already so perfectly beautiful because it lives close to it’s er, very nature.  You don’t see a beautiful peacock prancing about with Garnier this or that to make it’s feathers so unbelievably visually stunning?  Or a butterfly adding products to it’s wings to make them more vibrant?  Or a swan dicking about with beak shiner?  What am I talking about now?  What I mean is that the more we turn away from our nature, the more unnatural we look, feel and behave!  The more we turn to products to give us back what we ourselves are turning away from.

If you want to bring out your natural beauty then start from the inside:

  • Drink pure water (not tap or plastic, it’s full of shit)
  • Eat fresh, water-rich, nutrient-rich, mineral-rich fruits and vegetables
  • Have a green juice or smoothie a day or a big salad – just eat more fresh raw ingredients
  • Move about, get your blood pumping and your lymph moving
  • Choose natural beauty products with minimal ingredients – even better, make your own!
  • Ditch anything with ingredients that look like a chemical spill disaster or parabens, SLS etc.
  • Sleep well
  • Laugh more, LOVE more!
  • Play and don’t take it all so seriously

Take steps each day to move away from processed junk food, processed junk beauty products, processed junk thoughts.  Love your body inside and out and your natural beauty will start to shine through!

Trust me, following these steps as much as you can will make your skin glow, your eyes sparkle and shine, your hair and nails will be strong and shiny.  You will FEEL better and LOOK better and all without umpteen ‘beauty’ products!

You’re worth it!!

Hi Emma – I completely agree with you! Natural beauty is true beauty!
The ingredients in these so called beauty products are mind boggling – I think I read somewhere that an average women would take on about 2kg of chemicals in a year just from using beauty products… It makes you think!
    Thanks for sharing your post!

This all sounds great and I agree with it except that you look pretty young so my guess is that you haven.t started wrinkling yet. You may feel different when that starts and it will no matter how healthily you live and it sucks…trust me! 😉

    Hi Rebecca
Wow 2kg is a LOT! I shudder to think what I used to spray and slap all over me over the years!
    Em xx
