I read/watched with interest last night Natasha St. Michael’s latest blog posts ‘Update on my Diet & Vit B12 Deficiency‘ and ‘Why Do I Continue Promoting a Raw Food Diet?‘
Now, a word of warning. You might not LOVE or agree with what I’m about to say but:
- It’s my blog so I can say what I like *sticks out tongue*
- This blog post is awesome so you should keep reading…just sayin’
I wanted to comment on my own thoughts about what Natasha is doing and also respond to the numpties, yes numpties, who have suggested that they won’t watch or read Natasha’s materials because she’s reintroduced animal products in to her diet because clearly she doesn’t know what she’s talking about now.
For those of you who don’t know Natasha’s story, although she was supplementing with a B12 err, supplement, she still developed serious depletion of B12 which resulted in a nervous system disorder. After weighing up the possibilities, introduce animal products or go for B12 injections every 1-2 months, she decided to opt for animal products and now she’s better.
Let me repeat, and now she is better!
So here we have a woman who has become ill, followed a path to health which has worked for her and now, NOW, it’s suggested she doesn’t know what she’s doing? Is not to be trusted? Doesn’t know what she’s talking about?
People! PE-OPLE! Come on! This lovely woman has been raw for over 4 years (from memory), she has coached hundreds of people on how to follow a raw food lifestyle, helped people change their lives and put together great information products on how you can achieve great health and skin from eating more raw.
If anything I think she’s mature, responsible, not just following the crowd, intelligent enough to do what’s right for her body. For those people to criticise her because she’s included animal products in to her diet when she was gravely ill and now she is better? Well, that’s my definition of numpties.
She made a choice, an informed choice, which is her right to do and nobody on God’s green earth should have the right to attack her for that. She covers all her reasons in the blog posts and I fully support and applaud the decision she made for herself.
Moving on.
My own thoughts on B12. I think I’ve mentioned before that I supplement with B12. However, I have never had my levels tested so I can’t really know for sure what’s going on with me. For that reason, I’ve decided on my return to weegieland that I’m going to get them checked out and then follow up in about 6 week’s time with my own results and how I get my B12. 🙂
I’d love to know your thoughts. Controversial or not. LET’S OPEN A WORM CAN PEOPLE!
Bless you Natasha, I think you bloody rock girl!
