I hadn’t really given Magnesium much thought until recently. Well, who does? Magnesium has recently become the thing that people in the health food world are talking about and so being the health seeker I am, no wait, health ADVENTURER! YEAH, that sounds good! Where was I? Yes, being the HEALTH ADVENTURER I am I decided to look in to it a bit more…
First stop, Mr Mike Nash of Aggressive Health. You can always rely on Mike to test bloody everything out and then youtube it all over the shop in his own delightful and fun to watch way (in his bathroom of course). He also looks like Peter Andre (Lucy, he does) check out his vid about Magensium
After watching Mike’s vid I’d got my hands on Elwin Robinson’s Easy Exhaustion Cure and found out much more about Magnesium and its relationship to our health.
Magnesium is the fourth most abundant mineral in your body and a necessary co-factor for over 300 enzymatic processes. It’s also the most critical mineral of all for coping with stress. Unfortunately, most people don’t eat enough Magnesium-rich food which includes anything with chlorophyll so all GREEN vegetables and leaves, as well as CACAO, bananas, oats, blackberries, dates, dried figs, mangoes, watermelon, almonds, brazil nuts, cashews, hazelnuts etc.
“Magnesium is crucial in the process of manufacturing the all important energy molecule ATP. Without magnesium, production of ATP grinds almost to a halt, and you feel exhausted.”
I got this oil from Elwin’s shop
You spray it onto your skin and then it gets absorbed straight through your skin and into your bloodstream. I spray it about 8 times on large areas of my body (avoid nipples) and give it a wee rub in.
How do I know this works?
The first few times I used it it was a bit stingy on my skin, this can happen when you’re depleted in magnesium. Then after a few days it was hunky dory and I could spray away to my heart’s content without a flinch (apart from the nipples – avoid as if your life depends on it). THEN, I had an operation in hospital (well, where else?) and it was hugely stressful both physically and emotionally.
Stress can massively deplete Magnesium in the body. The body’s magnesium reserve is an integral part of the stress response system. When stressed for any reason, the body’s hormonal response causes an outpouring of magnesium from cells into plasma.
When I got out of hospital and went to use the oil it STUNG like a million wasps that had been fitted with an upgraded futuristic nuclear stinging device. As much as it hurt I knew that the very fact that it was stinging so badly when it hadn’t before meant my Magnesium levels must’ve dropped significantly in just a couple of days! After a day or so I was back to normal with the non stinging. Hooray!
In the Easy Exhaustion Cure Elwin gives another example as to how you might notice magnesium at work:-
When you have adequate reserves of Magnesium, fear and anxiety become almost impossible. You can test this with public speaking, unless this is something you’re already accomplished at, in which case identify something you really fear.
If you feel no apprehension or nervousness before or during public speaking, then you probably don’t need any Magnesium. The vast majority of people will get very nervous at even the idea of speaking in public, many people are sick with fear.
I recommend you try it out for yourself and see if you notice a difference.
Apart from the whole stingy thing I definitely feel much calmer when I’ve had my spray and a couple of times I’ve hit the giggles!
From a purely practical point of view I’d recommend putting this oil on at NIGHT rather than the morning. It’s a bit oily and when it soaks in it can leave a white flaky film on your body which isn’t a sexy day time look. A few sprays on your bod before you get in to bed means it’s well and truly soaked in while you sleep. SORTED.
He totally doesn’t.
He so does! I’m gonna ask him up here so you can see him proper x
