Woo my second review in as many days! This time not raw chocolate but raw skincare!
We all know by now what we mean by raw food but raw skincare? What does that mean? Well, in essence it’s the same principle, all the ingredients are unprocessed, unheated and unpolluted so that it retains all the vital nutrients. You can rest assured with raw skincare products you are getting the very best for your skin with none of the nasty synthetic chemical-laden ingredients. In fact it’s so good you could probably eat it! What you put on your skin you are technically eating anyway so why not treat it to the best skincare you can find! Afterall, you’re worth it! 😉
On their site Live Native explain how they make their lovely products:
It is a cold blending process, which we have coined to emphasise that we do not wish to degrade or deplete nature’s store of naturally occurring vitamins, minerals, polysaccharides, essential fatty acids and enzymes found living in all of our ingredients. We will not cook away what nature has so effectively provided.
Before I reviewed them I really wanted to take a few days to properly use them. Just using a product once doesn’t really give you the full lowdown when it comes to skincare. With that in mind I have proper indulged myself over the last few days with a full-on pamperfest for my skin.
The first product I tested was the Essential Woman with Frangipani, which is a skin care cream for all over the body and face. It has frangipani (sounds like an Indian dish to me) essential oil and is infused with rose oil to provide a really distinct and sensual aroma.
After rubbing this over my body I smelled like a beautiful turkish delight woman. Rod and I were reminded of the old Turkish Delight advert. Ha ha I’m the lovely Turkish burd and he’s the dashing prince….errrr perhaps not 🙂
I really love the smell of this moisturiser and it’s very light and non-greasy. It absorbs quickly and leaves your skin silky smooth. A little goes a long way which is good at £12.99 a pot but this isn’t an unusually high price given the organic high quality raw ingredients. If you’d prefer something a little lighter on the pocket the Everybody Every Day cream has a lot of the same ingredients and is only £9.99.
I also tested the Essential Earth Cleanser. Let me start by saying I love this stuff! As soon as I spread the gooey mixture in to my hand I wanted to lick it off! It smells good enough to eat (doesn’t look it) and is so gentle in how it gently exfoliates and leaves your skin so dramatically soft. Most of the exfoliators I’ve used can leave your skin feeling really tight and dry but after using this it’s super soft and hydrated. That doesn’t mean it’s not doing it’s job, the exfoliation isn’t too rough but isn’t namby pamby either. The Cleanser contains Rhassoul Clay to remove trapped oil and dirt, oats for exfoliation, kelp to replenish minerals and MSM to build collagen. It’s a wee wonder-wash! Love it. It’s a bit more pricey at £15.99 per pop but again, you only need a small amount for superior results and the gorgeous smell alone is worth it! I actually don’t have a bad word to say about either of the products I tested.
Check out Live Native’s website for the sheer range of products they have to pamper your lovely body from head to foot. As well as products for men they have pamper hampers, gift boxes and vouchers. And the names! Check out You Sexy Beast You and Quality Me Time
If you haven’t already made the switch from harmful icky skin care products with ingredients that nobody can spell let alone decipher what the hell they are or where they came from e.g. Tocopheryl Acetate (I mean, what EVEN IS THAT?), then now is most definitely the time for you to clickity click on to Live Native’s website to give your body a bit of lovin’ from the outside as well as the inside!
