It’s lunchtime; do you eat that avocado or smear it on your face? Or do you reach for your ever-so-yummy sachet of chocolate face masque and dip your strawberries into it for a decadent snack? No?
Perhaps you’re paying through the nose for delicious healthy raw food but still putting toxic toiletries on your skin? Well not any more! Did you know that those same foods you eat can be used as your beauty products and that, vice versa, your skincare can also be eaten?
When you make lovely natural beauty potions from only organic raw ingredients they will feed your skin in 2 ways:
Once when you apply them to your lovely face and again when you also eat a portion and supply that gorgeous organ we call ‘skin’ with beautifying vitamins and minerals. It’s a win-win situation that also saves you tons of money too (have you seen the price of raw organic skincare?)
I am going to share with you some of my favourite 2 in 1 food/skin food recipes that will make your skin glow, your health soar , your tastes buds will have a party and all that good stuff.
Chocolate facial mousse masque-arama
Ingredients:
1 avocado
1 flat tblsp raw cacao powder
1 banana
dash of vanilla essence
To make:
Blend everything together in a food processor until it is a thick cream, using a wide make-up brush (or professional facial brush) apply a even layer of mixture over your face avoiding the eyes, nostrils and lips (for now!). Leave on for at least 10 minutes while you put the rest of the mousse into a pretty bowl and devour like a chocolate addict while putting your feet up. (top tip: I find that reclining in my best frilly undies on my chaise longue is the best way to enjoy this inside out facial delight)
Skin scrub sweet snacky balls
Ingredients:
1 tblsp raw oats finely ground
1 tblsp ground almonds
1 tblsp raw coconut butter
2 tsp cinnamon
2 teaspoon nutmeg
Enough raw honey (or agave if strictly vegan) to bind the mixture to a dough
To make:
Stir the dry ingredients together then add the coconut butter until well incorporated, next drizzle in the honey/agave until the mixture sticks together like dough. Set half aside for shower-time and roll the remainder into little cute balls and refrigerate until firm. (Feel free to roll them in carob, mesquite or cacao first if you desire).
In the shower gently massage your sweet skin scrub over your damp skin to polish your bod to perfection. Now that’s tasty!
