Happy Sunday everyone! Today I’ve decided to review the fantastic iphone/ipod application Eco Chef by Bryan Au. I downloaded this yesterday from iTunes after about two hours of faffing about, mainly because I first of all had to update Rod’s old ipod with new software which took literally 12 eons. Then discovered that I’m already authorised on 5 machines so couldn’t download the app on this (borrowed from Rod) macbook. Then had to boot up my old laptop to deauthorise it which takes 14 million years to boot up only to discover I’d forgotten my password for iTunes and needed a new one before deauthorising and finalling installing on this laptop. Sheesh. 6 days later!! 🙂
Anyway, I’m so pleased to say that this app was more than worth the wait. Two words: AWE-SOME.
Bryan has developed such an amazing raw food recipe application which is so simple and easy to use and is broken down in to various options including ‘Meals’, ‘Cuisines’ such as Chinese, Indian, Mexican and Italian and finally ‘Themes’ such as finger food, party, potluck or kids. There are also recipes of the month which will be updated on an ongoing basis I imagine and the graphics are wonderful with pics of the food and recipe and ingredient information laid out really well!
You can also search for different topics such as breakfasts, soups, salads, smoothies, desserts, dressings etc. All of which only take 10 minutes or less to make! Better than that though he’s only gone and put VIDEOS on it too where he talks you through equipment and EVEN BETTER THAN THAT there’s a bit called Bryan Live where you get to ask him any question you can conceive (about raw food that is). I sent him a quick message about sugar-free dressings as I’m on low-sugar at the moment due to discovering I have major sugar sensitivity. I got a super quick response with loads of great info. Whatta guy eh?
I’m loving the look of the following:
5 minute chocolate cake
Carrot cake
Hot Pancakes
Curried Hummus
Falafels
Hawaiian Pizza
Macaroni & Cheese
There are so many recipes to choose from, something to suit everyone. I think that anyone would benefit from this app, not just raw foodies! Seriously I recommend everyone has this on their ipod or phone. I love it! Well done Bryan!
