hello hello
what a smashing day! had deep spiritual conversation with Rod on the way to the cinema about how we’re all one bla bla bla, don’t think he got what I was trying to say…don’t think I got it either 🙂 Been re-reading The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle, phenomenal book!
Decided to check out a place called Zucchini Organic on the way. It’s in Pollokshields and I had high hopes for lots of lovely organic fruit and veg but alas it wasn’t to be. They did have some organic stuff but it was things like biscuits and teas etc. Ended up getting a few things including lambs lettuce which is probably my favourite green. It’s so soft, like a lamb I guess. Not that I’ve actually ever touched a lamb but I imagine they are soft. Shut up Emma! Anyway, I also picked up some blood oranges – AMAZING. They contain the same chemical as purple corn, Anthocyanin, which is a great anti-tumour chemical. I just bloody love the colour of them…and the taste obviously.
Rod wasn’t as amused as I asked him to peel them in the cinema for me. My nails are still pretty damaged from stupid wedding nails I got done 6 weeks ago so I didn’t want to risk breaking one trying to peel them. God I sound like such a spoilt wife don’t I? ha ha “Peel my oranges darling I don’t want to break a nail”. Anyway, Rod thinks blood oranges are a stupid thing to take to the cinema.
We saw a film called Chloe, it was ok. I like Liam Neeson quite a lot 🙂
Came home and after devouring a lovely smoothie (3 bananas, punnet blueberries, 1/2 punnet blackberries, 1 tsp camu camu, 1 tsp purple corn powder and a handful of coconut chips) we went for a wee walk. It’s a beautiful day today, the snow has almost melted. Can’t wait for bloody Spring to arrive.
This afternoon I’ve been faffing away. I wrote my weekly journal for my Living Magically on Raw course which is a year long course run by Karen Knowler. It’s really good, very proactive and each month and week and day you need to write a journal outlining what you want to achieve. I have something huge to work on at the moment, bit top secret just now but I’ll be spilling the beans VERY SOON.
Decided to make Kate Magic’s Broccoli Bonkers recipe from her amazing superfood book Raw Magic for dinner. It sounds like it might be a bit iffy when you read the ingredients but it is seriously yummy. Kate is a magic raw food chef and creates great recipes you can throw your superfoods in to which is great for me because before I would limit all my superfoods to smoothies, now I chuck them in to anything! Broccoli bonkers is: 1 head broccoli, 1 tablespooon tahini, 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast (mmmm cheeesy), juice of 2 lemons, 1/4 red onion, 2 tabelspoons olive oil blend and serve with crudites. I like to spread this on crackers too but tonight Matthew I poured the whole lot in a big bowl (surprise surprise) with lambs lettuce, rocket and soft lettuce and sprinkled tonnes of sunseeds on top. Super yum for my super tum.
Promised Rod I’d make him Sunflower Sausages from Eat Smart Eat Raw (another Kate book – she’s not sponsoring me honest) tomorrow as a treat. It’s unusual, as I’ve mentioned, for me to go all out and make gourmet type food but after speaking to Gary yesterday I realise that there’s no reason that I can’t make stuff now and again, especially if Rod likes it and he is the Hula Hoop king so anything that’s not Hula Hoops is a bonus 🙂
Hoping to sort a venue tomorrow for the forthcoming potluck. I think Grassroots will be available which is great cos it’s so central plus it sells yummy raw food stuff wooo!
