How to stay motivated on the raw food diet

By Emma Aug 30 2

Hey scenesters, hey, hey scenesters!

How are you?  I am ROCKING!  Shall I tell you why?  Beeeeeeecaussssssse I finished my third ebook today and I love it.  It’s like a cute little book of awesome and I can’t wait to share it with you!  It’s called ‘The 7 Steps to Becoming a Successful Raw Foodist’.  That sounds quite boring actually doesn’t it?  I might change it to something a bit more SEXY… Hmm.  Any ideas?  Serious.  Drop me a line or leave a comment.  Anything goes…

Moving on.

I want to talk to you about THEEEEEE biggest thing when it comes to sticking it out with the ole raw food thang.  This is the number 1, NUMERO UNO problemo that people discuss when they ‘go raw’.

Yes, we’re talking ’bout how to stay motivated on a raw food diet.

Raw food wooo hoo.  You feel good.  You look good.  You are one sexy animal.  In fact, you are ON FIRE baby!

Then.

Uh oh.

You’re no longer on fire, it’s crash and burn time.  You’re sliding and you’re sliding fast in to full-scale cooked-fooddome.  Population: YOU!

You ask yourself “What happened?”.  You don’t get it, everything was going so well then temptation took over, you just couldn’t face it, you’ve hit a serious lack of motivation, lack of inspiration and you’re worried you’ll never be able to clamber back to the raw food lifestyle.

Whaddayado?

You blame the moon.  You blame your husband.  You blame the dog.  You blame the lizard people.  If only you could figure out how to stay motivated!  How does everyone else DO THIS?

Well I know a secret.  Are you ready?  Here it is:

Yep.  It’s a BIG Y!

So let’s talk about your big why and umm, why it’s important!

Do you remember why you went raw in the first place?  Was it to lose excess weight?  Gain energy?  Feel and look younger?  Because your best friend’s dog was doing it?

Focusing on the positives of what we expect to gain from incorporating any change in our lifestyle is one of the biggest keys to sticking to that goal.  Really remind yourself of that why and ask yourself whether the raw food lifestyle has lived up to expectations about what you’d gain.

Has your BIG WHY changed?

I remember when I went first raw my big why was my skin.  When I discovered there might be other benefits I was curious but I didn’t really know what to expect.  The more raw food I ate the better I felt and the more energy I got.  My big why shifted from skin to energy and this turned out to be my biggest incentive for sticking to raw foods.

There is nothing more motivating than goals you can actually FEEL!

The bottom line is that sometimes we just need reminded of our big why in order to stay motivated.  So if you’re struggling just now, take some time out and ask yourself the following:

  • Why am I doing this? (Not why do other people do this but why do YOU want to do this)

  • What do I ultimately hope to achieve?

  • How do I feel when I eat more raw food?

  • How are my energy levels when I eat raw food?

  • What benefits does eating this way bring to me now?  In one year, in five years…

  • What positives has eating raw food already brought to my life?

Guaranteed if you take the time to really consider and ponder on these you’ll feel more positive even if motivation doesn’t hit you straight away it’s about being more concious of why you are doing what you are doing!  Sometimes this is enough to get us moving out of the slump we’re in towards taking some action.  There are plenty more ways to boost your motivation and I promise to focus on these a bit more over the coming weeks.

So how do you stay motivated?  I’d love to hear.  Or why not share your big why and whether the raw food lifestyle has lived up to your wild expectations!  Perhaps it’s even exceeded them!  I’d love to hear how you’re getting on…

Stay tuned for more info on my awesome new book and err, get thinking on some sexy names won’t you? 😉
