Who doesn’t love raw chocolate? Answer: only mentalists and 80/10/10’ers. Ha ha! Nothing like being a bit controversial on a Monday morning is there? I jest of course, I love 80/10/10ers as much as the next man.
If you don’t know what 80/10/10’ers are, I can tell you that they are pygmy people from a small island in Australasia. They worship the Banana God, smother themselves in date paste before performing voodoo ceremonies on David Wolfe dolls and saying ‘move to the tropics’ every fourth sentence.
So I tried the BRAND NEW Vanoffee Dark raw chocolate bar (in a limited edition sexy neon pink wrapper swit swoo) by The Raw Chocolate Company. Remember I posted the interview with them recently? If you missed it check it out here.
The Raw Chocolate Company are one of my favourite brands of raw chocolate. Not just because they post silly stuff on their facebook page, but because they have a terrific range of raw chocolate bars at reasonable prices AND they don’t use agave to sweeten. Nope, just lovely xylitol or coconut sugar. GO TEAM!
The Vanoffe Dark is the latest addition to their range, and in time for Valentine’s Day is the equivalent of a raw chocolate love child between their Dark bar and Vanoffee bar. Chocolate bars having sex, now there’s an analogy you don’t hear every day.
This chocolate bar tastes fantastic. They’ve managed to create a bar with real texture and bite, but that still finds a balance that doesn’t end up feeling more like fudge in your mouth. Some raw chocolate bars have more of a crumbly texture than you’d expect in a chocolate bar. Not this one. I think it’s the lucuma that gives it the dreamy texture and it really does taste like toffee. Actual toffee! Genius when you consider the bar has so few ingredients: cacao butter, coconut sugar, cacao mass, lucuma and vanilla. Great texture, great taste.
I LOVE this bar. Perfect for Valentine’s Day. Or after. Or before. Or send me some. Or I didn’t just type that. Or I must get better at subliminal messaging.
£1.99 for 44g of pure sexual chocolate thank you very much!
