Morning morning. I’m feeling pretty damn jubilent today! Breakfast this morning (recipe below) was a watery surprise and so I decided to blog about watery food. I love water-rich food because it makes me feel so good. I didn’t mean for that to rhyme by the way…
You may think you’re drinking enough water throughout the day (chances are that you aren’t) but are you EATING enough water? To replenish moisture in the body, eating water is waaaaay better than drinking it. Strange but true.
If you’re unable to chug down the recommended 8 glasses of water a day (and even if you are) then it’s a good idea to start looking at getting water in to your body in other ways. Namely, through your food. As luck would have it, the main ingredient in fruits and vegetables is (fanfare do do do do do do doooo) WATER. Hooray!
The even better news is that the water in fruits and vegetables is surrounded by molecules that help it get in to your cells easily and quickly. When we consume water rich foods our cells take in more water and through a process called endocytosis are able to expel waste more easily. That’s why fruits and vegetables are so very cleansing to the body!
Eating more water-based foods gives you increased energy, helps you to gain a svelte figure and will beautify you from the inside out giving you the GLOW baby! If you want to be a shrivelled up old prune then make sure you eat plenty of shrivelled up food where the water has been taken out – usually through intense cooking methods. If you want to be a ripe juicy plum full of juiciness and vibrancy then aim for 50-75% of your food intake to be intensely water rich goodness!
Check out the chart below what I stole from another website 😉
There’s hunners you can do to get these little beauties in to your day including juices, smoothies, soups, salads and the following lush recipes:
Water Day for a Daydream
1 cucumber, chopped
1 grapefruit, squeezed
20 red grapes
Put in food processor with S blade and mix until well combined and soup. Drink and adore.
Water Beautiful Day
1 cucumber, chopped
1 pear, chopped
1 small handful parsley
10 red grapes
Process as above.
It’s ideal to get as much raw water-rich foods in to your bod as you can but simply having a lush salad with your dinner or a smoothie or juice for breakfast each day is a great first step to upping the ante water-wise.
Water you waiting for?
Ohhhh dear 🙂
For some reason this song has just popped in to my head. Have a GREAT day. I know you will 🙂 xx
