Say hello to Scotland’s newest Raw Food eaterie, Orb Cafe.
Yes, it’s about time someone with a bit of gumption opened up an ecstatical eating establishment full of heavenly raw food delights for us Scots! Edinburgh plays host AGAIN (read: get a grip, Glasgow) to the newly opened Orb Cafe (Organic Raw Bountiful – cute).
Enter Claire and Lizzy, two beautifully inspiring ladies who have joined forces to bring us natural, organic, raw food in a lovely, relaxed environment. The cafe is situated in the Shining Light Holistic Centre on Morrison Street.
The better half and I paid a wee visit to Orb last weekend to eat our pants off! Here are some pics of what we devoured…
I had the most delicious black cherry cacao smoothie I’ve ever tasted. Let it be known, I would sell body parts for this smoothie. Apart from my tongue and my nose. For obvious reasons. I followed that up with the pasta courgetti which was out-of-this-world good and then a tangy mixed berry crumble with coconut Booja ice cream. Bedazzling.
The lover had a beetroot, pear and lime juice followed by raw pizza, salad and kale crisps and then ginger zest sorbet with rocky road.
The food is unashamedly good, the hostessesssses are ten types of lovely and you should definitely go now. And you should invite me.
Check out their website here.
p.s. how good a word is gumption?
