Today Matthew I have been mostly eating…
GREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN juice for breakfast. I forgot just how bloody good green juice is. I seem to go in and out of phases of it and forget to remember just how awesome it makes me feel. Drinking/eating a high % of greens is defo when I’m at my best. Today’s green juice was 1 cucumber, 1 head celery, 2 pears, 1/4 lemon and a knob of ginger.
Greeeeeen smoothie today was big chunk pineapple, 2 kiwis, 4 strawberries, 3 handfuls wild greens (ground elder and dandelion) and a couple sprigs mint leaves. Delicious.
Drinking your greens is way better (and more fun) than eating them. It means you can pack a lot more green in to your day than having to sit and chomp your way through bags of spinach! You’d be surprised how much green you can fit in a smoothie and provided you have the right ratio of fruit you can’t taste the green at all. All you can taste is fruity goodness! If you’re just starting out I’d try 2:1 fruit to green. Nice sweet fruit like banana, pineapple and mango are good at masking the taste of greens. Start out with something simple like spinach and then play around with different leafy green veg and cucumber, celery, fennel. The combinations are endless. Once you’ve got used to the taste you can up the greens and drop some fruit. Simple 🙂 Google green smoothies or check out Viktoria Boutenko on youtube.
I also had 4 blood oranges. So good! I bloody love blood oranges.
Forgot to blog yesterday so here’s some stuff. I made a yummy strawberry pudding. It was strawbs, dates, banana and papaya. ORGASMATRON
I also had greeeeeen juice, apple, cucumber, celery, parsley, lemon, ginger and broccoli stem (goes to waste otherwise).
I had zillions of sweet potatoes so made a sweet potato and coriander soup. It was nice but what really made it was the coriander and mint pesto. Without the pesto this soup would’ve been pretty boring, will work on a sexier version. Soup: 2 sweet potato, 1/4 avo (made it a bit thick) 2 tomatoes, 1/2 date, garlic clove, 1/4 onion, pinch salt, handful coriander – blend. Pesto was big handful of coriander, handful basil, 2 sprigs mint, some olive oil and pinch salt. food process with the S blade until gloopy 🙂 Besto pesto I’ve ever tasted-o!
I was feeling quite creative and also made spiralised courgette with chilli and lemon. It was nice, probably would’ve been good to leave it to marinade a bit longer. Courgette, 1/4 red chilli, chopped fine, basil and mint, chopped fine, lemon juice and salt. Mixxy mixxy.
Then had some broccoli florets massaged with lemon, salt, flax oil and nutritional yeast. CHEEESY! 🙂
For pudding I made a yummy chocolate sauce with almond butter, honey and choc powder mixed with some water. Poured over 4 chopped bananas! mmmm. I didn’t realise how easy it is to make almond milk using the almond butter! No photo of this cos I ate it in world record time!
So on to my good news! I had an inspection from environMENTAL health to give me the all-clear to provide catering to the holiday cottages on the estate! Woo. It means that anyone that wants to come and stay here can have a nice wee holiday without having to worry about raw/healthy food! Yay! I know how much of a pain it is when you travel or go on holiday and worry about what you’re going to eat and if it’s going to be any good. I would love to see green smoothie on Premier Inn breakfast menu but it’s not gonna happen…just yet anyway 😉
There’s only a couple of boring red-tape things to sort out then I can get sorting my menu. Really excited. The holiday cottages are lovely, really close to Loch Lomond and gizillions of things to do.
So yes, very exciting.
Exercise-wise, that rhymes, I cycled 14 miles today with Rod as well as rebounding – check me! But not only that! I remembered I have a hula-hoop! Best fun ever! Really good for toning your waist and stomach and especially good for your sides when you watch your husband try it 🙂
So today I have a rebound song of the day AND a hula hoop song of the day! Exciting or what?
Hula hoop song – don’t you wish your girlfriend was raw like me! It actually says that!! 🙂
Rebound song – oooh baby baby!
