Spring is definitely in the air! Today I decided I’d exercise on my rebounder OUTSIDE! Amazing. The sun was shining and the fresh air was so invigorating while bouncing away. Luckily nobody can see me, just as well really as I tend to throw out some pretty dodgy moves ha ha! I think I’ll continue to do it outside as it’s so much better, unless it’s raining of course! Actually that might be quite fun…but a bit slippy hmm…
This is my rebound song of the day wooo
I read somewhere the other day that it’s actually a good idea to eat before you exercise in the morning (not just before obv) as it gives you energy to exercise and stops your metabolism from slowing down. Not sure if this is true or not. I always thought if you exercised on an empty stomach it burned fat first? I really don’t know that much about exercise. I’m still in a bit of pain from the workouts I did two days ago. I was thinking earlier however, I need to get out of the mindset that I’m ‘not an exerciser’ or a ‘keep-fit person’. I used to hate the kind of people that exercised every day and enjoyed it but now I think I am that person and I’m not so bad. Why do I think so negatively about ‘those’ kind of people? Why shouldn’t I be that person? Why couldn’t I be that person? I think a bit of an identity shift is going on…either that or an identity crisis ha ha! I’m struggling a bit with being that person because of the pre-conceived ideas I had about what a person like that is er, like. Am I making sense anymore? No…ok moving on 🙂
Watched Dylan Moran ‘Monster’ dvd last night. So incredibly funny I did that silent laugh where you’re laughing so hard no noise comes out and you’re frightened you might die cos you can’t breathe! I did that laugh A LOT! So good. Highly recommend it. Actually think you can watch a lot of it on youtube. Made a yummy pudding too, will prob post that tomorrow as I’m likely to make it again later.
This morning I had a really light smoothie before rebounding which was half a honeydew watermelon blended with a bit of lemon (prob 1/8th). It was yummy. Had the other half blended after exercising. Sooooo creamy, it’s called Judith and inspired by a recipe in Shazzie’s Detox Your World. Melon digests better on it’s own and so isn’t ideal mixed with other fruits.
I had a yummy smoothie for lunch 2 bananas, 1 papaya, 1/2 punnet blueberries, 1 handful red grapes, 2 stalks celery and some water. It was quite chunky as I didn’t break it all down, kinda like a fruity soup 🙂
You see, that’s what I love about eating this way. It’s soooo simple, easy, fun, tasty and satisfying. Bish. Bash. Bosh. Drink. Done. Today Rod overcooked his boiled egg and burnt his bagel all because he was trying to multi-task (not something men are very good at at the best of times). A huge benefit of raw is that you can stop what you’re doing food prep-wise and get on with something else and nothing goes wrong! I’ve stopped eating my dinner and had an hour phone call with a friend then gone back to it. Nothing is lost. Most of my meals take less than 5 minutes to make, sometimes less than 1 minute! Raw food supports you to live your life, to get things done and to free up time and energy for all the important things you want to achieve. I’d forgotten what it was like to ruin your food by overcooking or burning it. I’d forgotten that actually happens until Rod did it today. He wasn’t happy, it was quite amusing.
I loved something Kate Magic said when she was up giving talks in Glasgow and Edinburgh last month. She said, when you cook your food you are doing something to it, there is an end result “it’s done”. When you eat raw and make raw food, you are working with the food, you’re not doing something to it. I love that. It’s so creative. Salad is infinite because you can keep adding to it and it’s still not done until you’ve decided what the last ingredient will be. Every salad I’ve ever had has been different, it’s endless. Ok will stop babbling on…
Did my kickboxing abs and ass workout again and a dance workout. The dance one is mildly annoying, mainly because of the woman that teaches it. She keeps saying I’m doing great and I look sexy and I totally don’t! My arms and legs are going in opposite directions. I like to think I’ve got quite an ability to dance but this dvd has suggested otherwise 🙂
Tonight Matthew I made citrus courgetti with walnuts. This was waaaaaaay too lemony. I used 1 courgette spiralised (best gadget ever), juice of 1 lemon (1/2 lemon would have been much, much better), zest of 1/2 lemon, 1 handful walnuts crushed, 3 spring onions cut thinly, 1 tablespoon olive oil, pinch himalyan pink salt. Mix together all the ingredients in a big bowl. Im calling this one Martin.
Sooooo I said I’d share my BIG GIGANTIC NEWS! I’m not pregnant, just getting that one out the way 🙂 Doo doo doo doo doo doo doooooo (horn fanfare)
This Summer, I will be teaching raw food classes at Strathclyde University, as part of their daytime and evening Summer Programme! Wooo! They won’t be called ‘raw food classes’ because that’s a bit confusing to the general public who think it’ll be raw meat or whatever. It’s being called healthy eating classes and advertised as no need to cook. I’m so excited about this and really feel it’s part of major growth of healthy eating and raw food in Scotland. At the moment I’m putting together really simple, tasty recipes that will form part of the course which is three 2 hour classes covering breakfast, lunch and dinner! YAY, so there you go, my big news 🙂
This is my big news song
